#Pat @ Manchester Science Festival

As part of the Catalyst! team we were invited to MOSI to showcase our research and engage with the public. We repurposed the #Pat printer from the Patchworks project, creating a game designed to get people to think about the essentials of life (which homeless people may not have access to), while provoking thoughts on user-tracking and privacy implications of ‘checking in’.

The game equips users with an NFC wristband, and a set of clues, they had to find the ‘check in’ points (smartphones with NFC readers running a custom Android app) and then return to check in and be presented with a print out of where they had been with time to get between point represented by the length of line.
